London: Mohajir Qumi Movement MQM – Haqiqi submitted a petition to the Amnesty International and Commonwealth Secretariat in London to highlight their grievances and atrocities committed by a British citizen Altaf Hussain on the splinter group. The petition alleged that in the months of May and June 2009, more than 70 members of MQM-H including the women members and their children have been killed by London based MQM-Altaf.

In a message to the British Media Faisal Shariq a member of the Central Executive Committed of MQM-H stated, “That our lives as well our families lives are at risk and in constant danger due to the threats from the MQM-Altaf Group currently run from an International Secretariat in London”. The head of the group Altaf Hussain and many of his internal golden circles are now British Citizens and therefore it is moral responsibility of the British Government to stop them from terrorizing political opponents, their families in Karachi and in London.
“Although the MQM was originally founded to fight for the rights of Mohajirs, yet with the passage of time, the party’s head Altaf and some of his henchmen started using violence to achieve their aims and they have been carrying on with the same. In the circumstances, another group (within the party) was founded by Mr. Afaq Ahmed and Mr. Amir Khan under the name of MQM Haqiqi (MQM-H). Haqiqi is a word of Urdu language which means ‘Original’ and the reason for using this word is obvious”.
“This is to be noted that the party heads of MQM-H namely Mr. Afaq Ahmed and Mr. Amir Khan have been behind the bars for the past seven years, ever since an operation was launched against MQM-H in 2002 at the behest of the MQM-A and the headquarters (namely Bait-ul-Hamza) of MQM-H were also demolished. In the said operation hundreds of party workers were detained and tortured including the party founders of MQM-H”.
Mohajir Quami Movement was created to struggle for Mohajir (immigrants) community and to get them their rights in peaceful manner. But it is also very well known that Ziaul Haq’s dictatorial regime fighting against the Soviets Union in Afghanistan with the full co-operation of US created, sponsored, and nurtured MQM to counter religious parties in Karachi. One can say in hindsight that Altaf Hussain is a creation of a military dictator like many other so called political leaders in Pakistan. Altaf Hussain who was a student leader in Karachi was reportedly asked to abandon his job of taxi driver in New York and to takeover this party. MQM was fully supported and dominated by predominantly Shia leftist intellectuals like Raess Amrovhee, John Eilia, Shenshah Hussain Mr Rizvi…. After the collapse of Soviet Union these pseudo leftist intellectuals jumped in US bandwagon and are still on it. Altaf Husain now a British Citizen living in London founded ‘All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization (APMSO) in 1979. Student movement converted into a political party by then military ‘establishment’ now known as MQM in 1984.
The petition alleges that, “The Federal Court of Canada in one of their decisions ruled that MQM-A is a terrorist organization. A copy of a summary of the said decision posted on www.canada.com dated 18/07/07 is attached herewith to that effect. You will note from the attached article that, “it is the second time this year (2008) Canadian Courts have ruled that the MQM party meets the legal definition of a terrorist organization.”
